Biography:

Hello Vikings Community!

I’m Ken Nelson, and I’m thrilled to be entering my third season as the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Walled Lake Central High School. I am genuinely excited about the growth and direction of our program as we gear up for the 2024-2025 season. Coaching is my true passion, second only to my family.

My coaching journey began over twenty years ago in the Grand Rapids area, where I’ve had the privilege of coaching various levels of basketball, including boys’ AAU, boys’ and girls’ middle school, and high school basketball, as well as high school football.

At home, my starting five consists of my wonderful wife, Meredith, our two energetic boys, Griffen (10) and Henry (8), and our spirited daughter, Collins (5). Our household is always bustling, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

I deeply value the opportunity to coach, teach, and mentor young people through the sport of basketball. It’s a privilege I don’t take for granted.
