I'm excited to share an update about the future of our cheer program and introduce our new coaching team. Both of our new coaches are also teachers here at Walled Lake Central, which will allow them to build strong connections with our students both in and out of the classroom.Varsity Head Coach – April JacksonApril Jackson is stepping into the role of Varsity Head Cheer Coach and brings a passion for school spirit, teamwork, and creating a sense of belonging for all athletes. As a teacher at Central, she is already committed to building positive relationships with students. April was a high school cheerleader herself and previously coached for two years earlier in her career. I am excited to share that John Sharpe has been selected as the new Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach at Walled Lake Central.Coach Sharpe is a graduate of Walled Lake Central and brings over 20 years of experience as the Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach at Walled Lake Northern. In addition to his success on the court, he is a dedicated educator who teaches AP Biology, Honors Biology, and Leadership.He has strong ties to our community and is eager to return to Walled Lake Central to support the growth and development of our student-athletes both academically and athletically. Welcome Hillary Glaser as Girls & Boys Tennis Coach

A lifelong athlete who first stepped onto the court at age four, Hillary Glaser is the 2025–2026 Michigan High School Tennis Coaches Association Regional Coach of the Year for Walled Lake Central Boys Tennis. Beyond the courts, she is a fixture in the district, serving as the Walled Lake PTSA Council President and working at WLC's school store - Central Station. When she isn’t coaching, she's running both a digital marketing firm and a baking company. A proud Walled Lake resident, she shares her busy home with her two sons, three dogs, a bearded dragon, and a very patient husband.
