We are excited to introduce Coach Catalina as the new Head Coach for our Boys Cross Country team at Walled Lake Central!
Coach Catalina brings a strong background in both cross country and track & field, along with a genuine passion for student-athlete development. She has proudly served as an assistant coach for the Girls Cross Country and Track & Field teams here at Walled Lake Central for the past five years, working closely with athletes to develop training plans, build mental and physical endurance, and foster a positive team culture.
In addition to her coaching role, Coach Catalina is also a dedicated teacher at Walled Lake Central, further connecting her commitment to our students' growth both in and out of the classroom.
Before joining our school, Coach Catalina gained valuable coaching experience at Holly High School, assisting with both boys’ and girls’ cross country and track & field programs. As a former collegiate runner and dedicated marathoner, she brings firsthand insight into the discipline, strategy, and mental toughness required for long-distance competition. This experience allows her to connect meaningfully with our athletes and model the commitment and mindset we encourage in all our runners.
Coach Catalina is committed to coaching the whole athlete—helping students grow in confidence, discipline, and character as well as athletic performance. She has supported athletes at all levels, building strong foundations for newcomers and pushing returning runners to meet and exceed their personal and competitive goals. Her vision is to foster a team culture grounded in hard work, accountability, and respect both on and off the course.
We are confident that Coach Catalina will lead our Boys Cross Country team with dedication, experience, and passion, continuing the tradition of excellence at Walled Lake Central.
Please join us in congratulating Coach Catalina on her new role. We look forward to a successful season ahead under her leadership!
